Most value is adding living space, with kitchen and baths remodels a close second. Make sure you are getting a good return on your investment. Well on your way to turning your dream into reality.

Maintainence VS Remodeling
- Most homes need yearly maintainence.
Replacing carpet or updating paint would be maintainence, while replacing cabinets would be considered a remodel. It can become bigger dollars on a remodel if yearly maintaince is not upkept.
- Do-it yourself does not always save you money. Time is money. Most contractors have a long relationship with its subcontractors to get it done timely and correctly. The saying is true: you get what you pay for. Should get a high quality finish with a contractor. A contractor will have experience on scheduling and with the latest materials.
- Meet with several contractors. Don’t necissorly go with the lowest bid. Make sure that you talk about change orders. It is often a good idea to have a contractor in with the design stage of your project. You will have to be comfortable with who you hire. They will be in your life for several months to come. Must have a good personal relationship.
